Playlist for April 10, 2010
My guest on the show this week was kAINE D3L4Y of Left Spine Down. Aside from his frontman duties, kAINE also DJs around town, including the first Sin City every month at Club 23 West, and he gave us a taste of his wide-ranging DJ sets.
And hey, he made it through the full marathon 4 hours!
We started with a battle with the gremlins, which necessitated throwing on a couple of my tracks at the beginning too [all Maqlu stuff]. Alas, I still do not have my own copy of Keith LeBlanc's "Major Malfunction" as once suggested to me by Dave Ogilvie.
Here's what we played:
A little Maqlu to start the show:
Maqlu: "Six Times Off," "Writhe (Deja Vu Mix/Instrumental Version)" and "Five Points"
And when we got rolling:
Left Spine Down: "Controlled Voltage (kAINE-O-Matic Mix by Decree)" from Smartbomb 2.3: The Underground Mixes [2009, Synthetic Sounds]
Whitehouse: "Ruthless Babysitting" from Asceticists 2006
Revolting Cocks: "Juice" from Got Cock?
Ministry: "Let's Go" from The Last Sucker [2007, 13th Planet]
KLF: "What Time Is Love? (Live From Trancentral)" from Last Train to Trancentral
Nirvana: "I Hate Myself and Want to Die" from With the Lights Out [2004, DCG]
Killing Joke feat. Dave Grohl: "Blood on Your Hands" from Killing Joke [2003]
The Damage Manual: "Scissor Quickstep"
Rabbit Junk vs. Cyanotic: "I Vote Bolshevik Lite" from Gears Gone Wild
Radiohead: "When Bluebirds Fly"
The Normal: "TV OD"
The Human League: "The Dignity of Labour Part 1"
Depeche Mode: "The Sun and the Rainfall" from A Broken Frame
The Art of Noise: "Beatbox"
Negativland: "Escape From Noise"
Skinny Puppy: "Those Loud Neighbours" from Back and Forth 7
Error: "Nothing's Working"
Part 1 of the Vampire's Ball podcast for April 10, 2010.

Leonard Cohen: "Everybody Knows" from I'm Your Man
Patti Smith and Fred Smith: "It Takes Time" from the soundtrack CD for Until the End of the World
Tom Waits: "Big In Japan" from The Mule Variations
David Lynch: "Imaginary Girl"
Ciccone Youth: "Macbeth"
Think Tank: "A Knife and a Fork"
Beastie Boys: "The Kangaroo Rat"

Warsaw: "Interzone"
Gary Numan: "Our Friends Electric"
David Bowie: "Alabama Song"
DJ? Acucrack: "Send More Paramedics"
